The cluckers are coming to the city

Cities, one by one, are changing their regulations and allowing residents to set up small chicken coops and keep a few chickens in their gardens as pets. Over the past few years, municipalities like Sorel-Tracy, Chambly, Carignan, Drummondville, and Quebec City, to name a few, have embraced urban chickens. Since then, many other areas have joined this new trend, while others are starting pilot projects and will soon follow suit.

Urban agriculture offers families an opportunity to reconnect with nature, familiarize children with animal life, and enjoy fresh products. Just as a garden provides vegetables for the table, the chicken will be the pet that offers you fresh eggs for breakfast.
